Side Saddle returns to Ashbourne Show

Ashbourne Show on Saturday August 21st has a Ladies Hunter Class as well as two side saddle classes.  Some years ago we used to have Side Saddle classes until they were withdrawn due to the lack of interest.  We have re-organised our rings so we can fit these classes in and would love to see the classes well filled.

We have Veteran Horse and Pony qualifying classes, about seven HOYS qualifying classes as well as the normal WHP and local family pony classes.

The website for the show is:  www.ashbourneshow.co.uk   Entries close on 21st July - no late entries

Have you now qualified for the EQUESTRIANLIFE Championships? To be held on the 12th September 2010 at Arena UK. You can now get your copy of the Schedule & Entry form CLICK HERE

Burghley Invites Eventing Stallions to Parade

The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials from 2-5 September 2010 and the British Bred Sport Horse (BBSH, formerly PSHP) are staging a third stallion parade in the young horse ring on Friday 3 September.

Up to 20 ridden stallions, including proven event sires, all of which are graded, will parade at lunchtime in a spectacle for all visitors to the horse trials, giving breeders plenty of time to view and pick their eventing sires for next breeding season.

Says Event Director Elizabeth Inman, “the British Equestrian Federation and BBSH have been working together for several years now to improve the quality and breeding of our horses and ponies. We are pleased to be linking with BBSH once again to showcase these stallions for the future of sport horse breeding. This year, by popular demand, we will give priority to sires known for or likely to produce event horses”.

Stallion entry forms are now available at www.bef.co.uk and www.burghley-horse.co.uk and will be taken on a first come first served basis. A list of stallions entered will be available on these websites when entries close.
